Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus...

I'm so blessed to have the support of a wonderful worship team! May we continue to strive for excellence in our ministry and use the many gifts and talents He has given us for His glory. I love how this old hymn is sung in a new style.. and I hope these 2 songs will inspire people to love God more each and every day...

Heart Ponderings...

After becoming a mother, I often looked at my boys and wonder.. 'Am I a good mother? Have I spent enough time nurturing them? Was I too harsh with discipline? Do I love them selflessly? Are they reaching their potential?'. I bore my children because I had already made the decision to love them.. and this enlightenment gave me better insight into our relationship with God.. our heavenly Father..

God longs for us to come to Him.. but every so often, we exhibit autistic-like behaviour towards Him.. we don't look at Him (no eye-contact).. we ignore His voice and avoid talking to Him (poor communication).. we prefer or even insist on doing our own thing (self-directed).. we complain when He doesn't answer our prayers the way we want Him too (temper tantrums).. and run away when He calls us.. May Psalm 42 then be our continual prayer..

As the deer pants for the water

So my soul longs after you

You alone are my heart's desire

And I long to worship you

Reflections & Resolutions.. 2011

It dawned on me that I probably attended more funerals than weddings last year.. which ended with two in the final week of December. No wonder they call it midlife crisis! After the age of the 'Hawaii 4.0'.. 4.1 is not necessarily an upgrade and very possible a downgrade instead. We try to avoid the big Cs instead of pursuing them.. namely Cancer.. Coronary blockage.. Cardiac arrest.. Colon disease.. and not forgetting.. Alzheimer's.. Botox.. Diabetes.. The highlight of 2010 was certainly that fateful sms from Alison saying that she has returned to the faith after a 20-year hiatus.. and just recently even rebuked me for being.. er.. 'addicted' to facebook.. ha ha! Talk about role-reversal here!

So maybe I should have another go at resolution-making and hopefully, bear them in mind the the rest of the year:
  • Exercise regularly.. lose weight.. at least 10kg.. (the same goals from 2007!)
  • Spend meaningful time with the important people in my life
  • Meet up with old friends and make new ones
  • Seize every opportunity that arises
  • Depend more on God in my field of work.. bring joy and healing through these hands
  • Learn a language (Chinese or Korean?).. help Justin improve on his English.. and teach the boys basic Bahasa Malaysia (besides bosan.. penat.. and potong kuku)
  • And of course (borrowing Ms. Congeniality's words).. World Peace!
