My Life's Journey

Treading on the narrow pathway
Wondering about tomorrow
Needing Someone to stand by me
To face all fears & sorrows
Finding love in You when I realised
You gave Your life that day
On the Cross to set me free

Throughout my life's journey
I know you're always near
You hear my every heart beat
You see my every tear
In a world that is uncertain
You alone remain sure
Lord Your grace is sufficient for me

Disappointments, Disillusioned
Blinded to Your mercy
But You're gentle & so patient
Waiting there for me
Longing just to bring a little smile
And joy into my life
Forgiveness, hope for all eternity

Precious Name of God

I will give you all my praise
I will worship all my days
There is only one God
I would rather bow to You
Come & take Your place in me
I give all my life to You
Renew my heart & love for You

You are the Holy One
You're always there for those
Who call upon Your Name
Your hand is mighty to save
O Lord You are my friend
There's no one else so faithful
Till the very end
Precious Name of God
Worthy are You Lord
My God

A Tribute to True Friends...

In the walk of life you will find come across many people. Some are there with you only for a momentary phase while other walk the path of life with you for a considerable distance. Friends come and go. But it requires true courage and spirit to be friends forever and to walk the journey of life till the end. As a Jewish saying goes, "Who finds a faithful friend, finds a treasure". But it is not easy to find this treasure. Only very fortunate ones succeed in achieving it, once it is found try your best not to loose it. An anonymous author very aptly described this, "Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."
A true friend is someone who understands you even without your having to explain anything, someone who understands you and cares for you. If you feel a pain in your heart when you see a tear in your friend's eye, if your friend is more happy than you to see you successful, then you must understand that you have found a friend forever. A true friend is someone with whom you do not have to make an effort to share your thoughts. The mental harmony between true friends comes naturally. People might claim to be your true friends. Declarations are easy to make. But it's only the person who is your friend forever, who will stand with you through the thick and the thin.
There is a Miracle called Friendship
That dwells within the heart
And you don't know how it happens
Or when it even starts
But the happiness it brings you
Always gives a special lift
And you realize that
Friendship is God's most precious gift

Some Truths About Harry Potter...

Despite the controversies surrounding the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling has proven herself to be an excellent writer. I guess you have to be a fan of such 'fantasy' stories to appreciate how she manages to link the plots, imaginary creatures and far-away lands...from different famous books into this one...from Enid Blyton's 'The Wishing Chair', 'The Enchanted Tree' and 'Malory Towers'...to C.S. Lewis' 'Chronicles of Narnia' (also seven books by the way)...to J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Lord Of The Rings' series...and last but not least, the 'Bible'...yup, not that surprising is it?
Good vs Evil...Aslan, Gandalf, Dumbledore, Harry, Frodo, Aragon vs White Witch, Dark Lord Sauron, Lord Voldermort...John 10:10 'The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full'.

Body and Soul...Horcruxes vs Eternal Life...Matthew 10:28 'Do not be afraid of those who can kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell'.

Love conquers all...Lily and Harry Potter (to a much lesser degree, Snape, and the Malfoys may deserve a brief mention here) vs Tom Riddle...John 15:13 'Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends'.

Friendship and betrayal...Ron, Hermoine, Mr. Sam Gamgee, Snape vs Pettigrew, Lord Voldermort...John 13:21 'After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified; I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me'...Psalm 41:9 'Even my close friend, whom I trusted, he who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me'.

Personal ambition vs Sacrifice...Elder wand, Ring of Power vs Cross of Calvary...Mark 14:36 'Abba Father, everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will'.

Sunny Island Set In The Sea...(Part 4)

Bukit Batok & CCK Care-groups (Can you spot Ps. Dinah?)
Surprised Andrew with squashed birthday cake at Pulau Ubin
So, this is my current 'adopted' country...but not necessarily the final destination. I arrived here in 1993 and lived with housemates, Farida and Poh Choo at Blk 108, Bukit Batok West Ave 6. Hope of God Church became my second home...my first care-group was at James & Mimi's place...and we were nomadic people on Sundays. It was a literal logistics nightmare after every worship practice on Saturday...we had to pack everything-->load up the van-->unpack the whole lot on Sunday-->set-up-->repack after the service-->load up van yet again -->and unload the stuff at the church office!!! But despite all the inconveniences, what I really treasured most was the great fellowship...we were a very close-knit family indeed...
My birthday at East Coast Park...slimed with cake & cream after photo was taken!

La Trobe University...(Part 3)

Darwin OT Conference 1993

Anglesea and Phillip Island
Then I was whisked off to Melbourne, Australia to finish the final lap of my studies (supposedly). The 1st year was aclimatisation, the 2nd year was rather traumatic because my passport, IC and driver's license were stolen when our house got burglarised, 3rd year clinical was a killer (I was totally miserable)...but thank God...the final year made up for that! Maybe I'm just a bit wee slow at adjusting and adapting to the different work culture and mindset? Stupid...I am NOT!!!

Lake Mountain, OCF Parkville, OCF Brisbane Camp 1992

Graduation 1992

Taylor's College...(Part 2)

After SPM (O Levels), decided to save one year by doing Year 12 (Group J) at Taylor's College instead of STPM (A Levels). Looking back...it felt rather like a whirlwind that swept through the 10 months...new friends...unfamiliar environment...different system...it was a steep learning curve...plus having to TRANSLATE everything from Bahasa Malaysia into English!!! I recall writing 'Plumbum IV Oxide' in one of my chemistry test paper...DUHHH! And obviously got a big RED cross for it! Ha ha ha...
