Amusing Languages...

Although I'm Hokkien, I don't speak that dialect.. preferring my learnt 'mother' tongue which is Cantonese. Then I married a pure-bred Hakka.. maybe it's the sing-song intonation (like an off-pitched blend of Cantonese/Mandarin).. or maybe it's just my ears not being accustomed to confessions of love in a foreign tongue.. the Hakka language somehow tickles my funny bone to the core! So, as you can imagine when I came across this video.. it had me in stitches and ROTFL (rolling on the floor laughing)...

In Memory Of Whitney...

So another great singer has passed on at a relatively young age.. another sad case of alcohol, drug abuse and broken relationships. I grew up listening to her music.. dancing to Somebody Who Loves Me.. loving her duet with Mariah Carey in The Prince of Egypt (one of my favourites).. but without watching any of her movies. I hope that in her final moments, she found the strength to hold on to the faith she had at her humble gospel beginning and believed in the words she sung deep down in her heart.. Survived my darkest hour.. My faith kept me alive.. I picked myself back up.. Hold my head up high.. I was built not to break.. I didn't know my own strength.. May God rest her soul...
